Poems whisper to me as I prepare for bed
Like a lullaby I hear them in my head
I fall asleep holding my notebook tight
Clutch my pen feeling the ink glowing bright
I dream I am writing in my slumber
But when awake I can’t remember
To capture elusive words that run asunder
Many a time I make a wordy blunder
I try to get back words from where they meander
There is no paper, there is no pen
I don’t have to cross my t’s
And dot my i’s
I don’t need to write a rhyme
Or make the syllables chime
My mind let’s go and feels sublime
With the spoken word I converse
Dreams come to me in the form of a verse
A monologue
In a soliloquy
A symphony of my
Soul’s piquancy .
I love your poetry Yassy 💕

When a poem pops into my head in the night, I grab my phone and write down enough that the rest returns when I wake

Yep , that’s the best way to save what just popped into your head. That’s what I do too , save them in notes on my phone.. but only when awake .

Alas I rarely remember dreams. Women seem to remember dreams but I remember only nightmares

Yeah exactly .. sometimes dreams are vivid , sometimes it’s all a haze .. I am sorry about you getting nightmares. I hope you overcome your subconscious mind. I think nothing is bigger that your own self. So you can conquer it. Cheers!!

You create a magical feeling with this one, my friend! Our subconscious speaks the loudest when we slumber, if we are willing to listen. A beautiful poem, Yassy!

Love this poem. I always have pen and paper on my night stand. It seems my semi awake and writing time is around 3pm.

I can’t even buy a dictionary
I can’t even read what you write
Words come to me
But then you remind me
Why I don’t like to fight
