For Posterity’s Sake

I do not think anybody has the right
To see anybody as black or white.
To judge a person by his/her race
Discrimination is a disgrace
To humanity and to humaneness
Xenophobia is awefulness
Will man ever transcend these barriers
Erected through segregation carriers.
Have we been taught to see only in color
We have lessons to learn, lessons in valour.
What our heart needs is compassion's fervour
For all posterity to preserve, persevere.

  1. Ah, my lovely Yassy, beautifully said. We can hope and we can work together to crate a better world. Can we really do it? That’s a different question.
    “Discrimination is a disgrace
    To humanity”
    Indeed, it is.
    Sending love sweetheart.

      2. We can’t lose faith in humanity , that would be a disaster. I think that in itself would demoralize us so cheers , G. Here’s to poetry and poets and WordPress of course geeeeeπŸ’ƒπŸ½πŸ€©πŸ€—

  2. Beautiful words, Yassy. In South AFrica, the xenophobia is local African people who turn on the foreigners from other AFrican countries. Sadly, it is mainly about money and jobs as there just isn’t enough employment here.

  3. Heartbreaking indeed. We are all one big family. We don’t have to like everyone because some people don’t mesh BUT we can have love, compassion, kindness, and a helping hand. A smile, a kind hello. Spreading good. Being told that we have to pick a side, make a stand. I pick loving my brothers and sisters. I stand with being kind to all EVEN when they are not kind to me. It is all designed by the powers that be to keep us all fighting each other, so they can keep us in our place, and they can keep adding to their bottom lines. Keep writing beautiful Yassy. Your words reach people. Touch their hearts. Sweet Yassy planting seeds of knowledge, love and peace. Filling the gardens of peoples minds with the glorious fruits of what should be. Choking out the weeds of despair.

  4. Since birth I have been colour-blind. Black, grey and white are all I see – they tell me. I am glad that that is so. I despise the hatred of the colours of man/women kind – mainly white – idiots think are lesser than they are. A truly great piece of work, Lady Yasmin. Rainbow lives matter – George

    1. Thank you , George. You are one of the finest humans I have come across. It reflects in your poetry, lyrics and music. I respect you for all that you stand for.

      1. I can’t understand humans most times. I know we have to know bad in order to understand good, but really do we need this hate so many idiots seem to have. You are welcome to ‘Rainbow lives matter’, Yasmin. I like rainbows, the way my eyes see them, although most others get to see the colours. I find that interesting ~ George

      2. You don’t need eyes to see color or rainbows .. it’s essentially a part of you .. you see good and that’s an inherent make up of your quintessence.

  5. Good words, Yassy–I will never understand racial prejudice…how can you know a person just by looking at skin color? That’s one thing I like about blogging–when people choose not to use their photo; you get to know who they are by their writing, their spirit…and you may never know their race unless they choose to share. Blessings to you!

  6. I would love it if we chose diversity as our main mindset, and shall we give it a moment?, if we were all of the same colour, it would have been boring wouldn’t it? Thank you for adressing the topic dear Yasmin πŸ™ˆπŸ’

      1. Yes there is so much to learn about others, their colours are part of their stories and cultures from what they eat to how they do their makeup to what they choose to wear! I see it really fascinating this diversity we have, and also so fun to learn about, but i feel deeply sad how they have to be treated so bad and how they need to talk and scream everytime to get themselves heard when really they did nothing wrong, nothing! Crime is one thing unequality is another ~
