Ha. π I think I completely get what you are saying here Yassy… that used to give me *immense* fear of publishing btw. Immense. Still, I live to breathe another day. (And continue to pray. ;))

I am happy you can relate , Lia. And I am immensely happy you to hear you speak your mind.
I guess we just have to stop living the cliches of hope and fear and maybe strengthen each other up any which way we can.
Anyways, whatever it is , I think you are very brave and that gives me courage to fight my battles. Thanks girl π€

Exceptional verses Yasmin! Change will come from speaking out and I am so glad you added these beautiful words to the conversation! Well written, my friend!

Thank you, Brad. Will change really come, Brad? I am a nobody so I doubt whatever I will say will make any difference but no matter what we need to say it.
Thank you for the heads up ππΌπ

Will it change if we don’t speak out? And you stop being a nobody a long time ago!

To pen the pain is painful but if pain is what we have to go through to pen it, then so be it.
Just tryin to lighten the mood, Avia.

Well there’s gonna be pain, like it or not–and poets we are, we don’t always get to choose what pen must write, right? π β€

Extremely poignant. A direct confrontation and a rather wonderful one. Everything works so nicely and so powerfully. Your mortar mouth…what a wonderful metaphor. I can relate so much to your poetry, so thank you for that. Just wonderfully composed. Peace and greetings π

So heart rending to imagine the suffering and fear youβve expressed with such deep emotion. Hardened hearts of mortar. Hatred is learned and that is the root thatβs twists the flowers. But I see a younger generation rejecting the old ideals. β€οΈ

Thank you , Holly.
Itβs a daily thing and I wonder whether it will ever go away. It all goes way back so itβs deeply ingrained in people . Itβs actually the intellectual class who show traits of this discriminatory behaviour. And yes, there is hope yet because the younger generation think otherwise.

A whole new generation is rising up against old notions and preconceived beliefs and discriminatory actions. Long may the live and thrive to make a better world.
