time and distance mean
nothing, to souls that were joined
in the primal fire;
but, in poverty of flesh,
we forget too easily.
yassie
time and distance
are intangible
mortal is dust to dust
souls live eternal

beyond boundaries,
where darkness dissolves, we live
forever, as one.
yassie
bound but unbounded
in a bond that knows no darkness
eternity knows us as one

how ephemeral,
this world of flesh and shadow,
where dreams die, alone;
I long to find home, in dawn’s,
boundless ocean of soul-fire.
yassie
our souls burn with a fire
untamed and raw
it’s embers smouldering
with undying love
our dreams have a home in our hearts.

I’ve died too often,
my pain filling the heavens
with fire, forever.
yassie
your death renews life
a promise of immortality
your fire burns bright
© Simon J Ashcroft, 2025
all death is but change,
overseen beyond the stars,
where flames can’t be quenched;
hope waits for the endless day
when we blaze, ever unchanged.
yassie
we will burn bright
our flames unquenched
hope is a blaze that will sparkle
even the darkest shadows
death is just the pause…

illusion of time,
death dissolves, for we stand firm
in eternity;
we burn now, ever present,
in life’s immortal passion.
yassie
time eludes
the present leaves us delusional
but for eternal peace, the immortal
passion can never be forgotten

beyond these bodies,
mere dreams of our greater selves,
we ache to embrace;
the souls cannot be parted
from desire’s immolation
yassie
temporary beings
caught up on dreams:
in the embrace of reveries
we often forget realities
that flame our desires

my hope that, one day,
I will pass through this life’s veil,
to be free, at last;
I long to know home, again,
to rejoin my ancient love.
yassie
i want freedom from
this claustrophobic world
to pass on and live among the birds
for me, home will be the sky
that I will fly

on a wild mountain
I learned the wind is the breath
and song of the heart;
it’s theme is the wider sky
where the spirit cries freedom .
yassie
my heart bled a wildflower song
a violet fragrance wrapped my breath
my spirit pulsed wild and free
hugging the mountains in complete abandon

all spirit is wild-
the untamed storm, fire and ice,
riding the ages;
we will be, and ever were,
the cry of love and fury.
yassie
our spirits ride the storm
the fire that burns, burns us not,
the ice frosts not our desire
the cry that echoes in our universe
spills from our bosom like a plea of love
© Simon J Ashcroft, 2025
we are primal fire,
feral, uncontrolled, and ice
of sparkling crystal;
howl with me, through all aeons,
psalms of the spirit’s passion.
yassie
i will cry with you, burn with you
let’s torch this sparkling crystal
watch it melt and make a new shine
with the melody of the soul’s fire
© Simon J Ashcroft, 2025
I would lose myself
in the madness of the love
that overwhelms all;
the final conflagration
which consumes us, forever .
