It takes a leap of faith and imagination to let birds be messengers for other beings. Some people have said that at the time of death of a loved one that a bird came to them to comfort them or bring a message.
As for the birds themselves I think they have only about five things to say. They have songs to represent curiosity, danger warning, mating call, food alert, affection. Dogs have the same five.
Birds in dreams can do good pantomimes and metaphorical things.
I don’t think Nature is enough. Birds need birds. People need people. Prey birds don’t like predator birds, nor the deadly diseases of nature.
Words or word equivalents are necessary to not be alone. A higher level of communication is needed beyond the mere basic survival of food, shelter, protection.
A song is only a prelude to satisfaction, and the bird itself is not enough.

Whenever I hear birds singing I think of my grandfather – he could identify most by sound only.

That’s wonderful .. mostly I have been looking after wounded or sick birds. Mynah birds are my all time fav .. I have set my sights on an owl 🦉😀

How wonderful! My great grandma had both a mynah bird (named Sinbad) and a pretty big collection of owl figurines. I hope you get your owl!
