Soul-Fire – A Shadorma

Twinkle-toed
They dance in moon-glow
Melting to
Honeyed touch
Breaths scatter on starlit winds
Igniting a flame.

Darkness dreams
Hanging on to stars
Soul of night
Burning bright
Flipping blackness to starlight
Heartbeats trace love lines.

      1. You’re gonna ruin my very costly and much worked-on and carefully crafted disguise as a disgrunt and curmudge, young Lady Yasmin! And I so do appreciate it. But, dearest Lady, coulld you kinda keep the “kinds” to a mere two-volume minimum. It is thee who are very kind and I do not fig-give a whit were the world so to find out!

      1. Yes, definitely!! A wise and thoughtful comment , Maggie. We all need our little utopia , an escape from all the pressures , a sanctuary, only I wish it would be real 🤗

      2. I am grateful that you read my poems. It’s heart warming to have you here talking to me. You are real, I am real , the poetry is real and so is our friendship , I am happy it takes us to a world of our own. So grateful. And I truly appreciate your wonderful presence in my life. Be here always.

  1. Oh WOW, look at you!!! Such a lovely poem, dear heart–I would choose a fave phrase, but every line is exquisite. But…I think I’ll go with “starlit winds”….ooooh, I love that!! Hope you are well–I was thinking of you just yesterday!! ❤

  2. I adore poets willing to experiment with strict verse poetry and this Shadorma is beautifully written. If you have the time, I encourage you to visit my weekly series “Whittled Words” for highlights on many other forms. Wonderful poem!

    1. Okay. Thank you for appreciating my effort. It’s creative discipline, though I love free verse , I still love writing in various forms.

      3. Age has never mattered to me. Am growing older each day but feel like I am still in my youth. It’s all numbers and I ain’t no accountant.

      4. That is truth. My choices and decisions reflect me and no one else. It’s what allows me to surviive in shark infested waters – I know who to stay away from.
