Day In My Eyes

Sweet and chaste
White mist of dawn
Tinseled dew glaze
Blades of grass..
The day comes undone
A pastel embraced rush
Beguiling farewell to
The silence of sleep.
Midnight stars lull
To the sun-struck lilts of birds
Chrysanthemum clouds offer the moon
A ride home..
On lyrical wings, gossamer.
A floral wind takes shape
In the green of leaves
Air fills with breath of flowers

I breathe into my dreams
Feeling the unfolding of my soul
I see your face draped by smiles

Your smile warmer than the morning sun.

      Singing
      The world in my eyes
      Coming of spring
      Songs, warblers bring
      After the freezing
      A warm sun cajoling
      zephyr teasing

      1. It’s my chosen profession, you see.
        Being a free-range anthropologist
        (not a tourist), sweet Yassy.
It’s a job most dirty, but someone
must do it. I’ll let you know if there’s
a vacancy. For all you need is some
flair for poetry, Which you have in
        ample abundancy 💛😎

But to me you look a tourist
A well nourished merry one at that
Still you say the job is ugh 😩 dirty
Btw you get all those exotic places to see
To me you are a linguist
        An absolute purist !

        my (I thought, clever) disguise.
        O. K. 🤔 Would you believe
        I’m a journalist without borders?
Anyway, it gives me an excuse
to post on WordPress, and meet
the loveliest of poets 💛 😎

      4. Metaphorically you are my journalist , you take me around the world and your work is like reading Allen Ginsberg , the reincarnated version.

  1. So breathtaking as if I was there, as if it were me. What a beautiful day, revolving into night. So seamless yet so different. Isn’t everything created by our LORD just so miraculous. You are a pure blessing sweet Yassy. I pray your days, and nights, and everything in between are always full of the blessings you so deserve. I think about you so often during the days, and always feel the closest to you when I pray for you, especially before falling asleep each night 🙂

      1. I didn’t do a very good job at keeping up with everyone when I got so sick. I am truly sorry about that. With luck, I’m back for good and you don’t have to worry about me being absent again.

      3. I am glad to hear that. You have to make yourself better. No matter what. That’s what I do. And being here helps . Writing helps. And I am so happy you are here and talking. Something to look forward too.

      4. Yes indeed. Writing has always been my solace too. The problem I had involved my pain getting much worse than I ever anticipated. It looked my creativity and it hurt to do much of anything aside from posting and eating.

      5. Your creativity will always be with you. We nurture each other , creativity and our inner universe and we should never let that go. I am glad you did so too . Poetry gives us so much. It lets us be !

  2. Oh, this poem is so beautifully penned, Yassy, the force of nature that shapes our human existence, the role of the moon as the image of our dreams. Love this:
    “Chrysanthemum clouds offer the moon
    A ride home..”
I need these clouds to give the moon of my broken summer dreams a ride home too. I, too, need to breathe into my dreams no matter how sad I feel now. For me October 1, 2017 and October 14, 2019, will mark and are marking turning points in the history of Catalonia and Spain. How can the Spanish state send the police to beat up peaceful protesters, prosecute people for their ideas, imprison them and sentence innocent people to jail. In just one week, four people have lost one eye, each person, because of rubber balls shot by the Spanish police. I never thought this would happen. I believed Spain was a solid democracy, but no, the regime is turning more authoritarian each day. Our Catalan-Spanish conflict will never be resolved judicialising a political issue. We need international help, mediation. Please, watch this video and make it known to every one. We are not violent, we are not terrorists. It is the Spanish state that is constantly fabricating fake news. This is the truth: https://youtu.be/c04kj0nX688

      1. But, please, do not believe those that are saying we are violent, because we are not. There might be a minority of us, sure, but not the majority. The main violence comes from the police forces. I wish I could escape and live somewhere else now. And thank you for your understanding and for sharing your beautiful poetry. 💞

      2. Thank you for your comforting words, Yassy. Sure, I keep the faith and the patience. I only need to shed some tears from time to time as this prevents me from hate. Crying is not a sign of weakness but of liberation. It prevents your bad feelings from staying inside your body and causing disease. Thank you again, Yassy. You are very kind. 💞

      3. Politics is powerful, you realize that, don’t you. It’s not easy for the righteous to win. I don’t mean to be pessimistic but the bad guys always win. That is the state of the world and most countries are suffering . Well, at hear tears are our own and we can unburden our hearts and minds. But you must not lose heart. I think you are most brave to be able to talk about it.

  4. A day in your eyes seems dreamy Yassy and that’s exactly the way you wrote it and it was gorgeous. Inhale, exhale and all you feel is a placid feeling. A smile warmer than the sun, yes dear…you are right.😊🌹. Keep smiling.❤️
