Of Shooting Sunbeams

I watch sunbeams dance on a turquoise sea
Alabaster clouds swirl round the golden sun
The sunlight warms and invigorates me
Watching tasseled shadows is so much fun.

Alabaster clouds swirl round the golden sun
Melting azure waves stretch out on the shore
Meandering warm sands, naked toes burn
On varnished sea shells, tales of ocean lore.

Melting azure waves stretch out on the shore
Lavender skies arch over beaming waves
On zephyr's back sunning themselves birds soar
In sun-lit sparkling seas fishes play.

Lavender skies arch over beaming waves
The sunlight warms and invigorates me
In sun-lit sparkling seas fishes play
I watch sunbeams dance on a turquoise sea.

#Pantoum
The pantoum is a poetic form derived from the pantun, a Malay form:specifically from the pantun berkait, a series of interwoven quartains.

  1. Just a beautiful piece. The way the lines interweave. I also replied to Eugenia’s reblog of your work on Go Dog Go Cafe – but, I inadvertently named you as Jazzy, not Yassy. So when you see that, please know my faux pax with your identity has been corrected. )

    1. Oh! Thank you , quiet one, btw, my friends call me all kinds of names, Jazzy, Yazzie, Yaz, so I am cool with that.
It’s mighty kind of you to share my work. I am honoured. Where can I find the Go dog , I do follow Eugenia 😊

  2. Another form with repeating lines. I have written Villanelles, Triolets, and Rondelets. Of course, in any of these forms, the repeating lines can make or break the poem. You have good repeating lines.

  3. BTW: Drew Barrymore is one of the last of the wholesome actresses, who has not resorted to smut in her work. She has graduated smoothly into making movies and other productions. I can see why you chose her star in Hollywood.
