A few months ago I learned about some tribes in Australia that do not have words like left, right, front, or back in their language. Instead, they use the cardinal directions to communicate where anything is. It has fascinated me, and now I’m always trying to orient myself like this. Your poem reminded me of this because I’m always trying to find North now. It’s quite a shift in perspective to know where you are at all times in the grander scheme.
