Just a dream

When a poet is broken
All the words have been spoken.
When pages have been shredded
And ink drained and wetted.
And when the heart stumbled
With words I fumbled.
When things don't feel right
Sadness one cannot fight.
Sometimes the tears don't fall
One needs a shoulder to bawl.
I dip my pen in the inkwell of my blood
Wait for the words to break free and flood.
Opening the floodgates of my heart
And see the sorrow flow and depart.
Then I realize it's all been a dream
Things are just not the way they seem.

  1. The way things are aren’t always how they’re meant to be, that’s why some call them dreams.πŸ˜‰
Love your variety of style Yassy, like I said before my friend…you are a dream. A dream come true to poetry.πŸ’«

    1. Yes, you are right , my friend . You say it well. In fact I am reading your connect again. You are a wise one !
And you got that too. I try to vary the form I am writing in . So you are spot on in understanding that.
I think life is like a dream , Jo! It’s a nice dream , sometimes a nightmare dream lol !
As long as we have poetry , the dream goes on.
You take care and thank you talking. You are good πŸ™‚πŸ˜Š

      1. Thank you Yassy, you understand me so well and that’s a treat.
You have so many forms of styles and it’s so impressive and it is a treat to read your writing.
And yes, life can be a dream or a nightmare but it’s what we make it. We choose the colors of our rainbows at timesπŸ™‚ and with writers like you, the colors are beautiful. You take care too. πŸ˜‰πŸ˜Š
