a devoted sun

In the fog of dawn
I hear the birds igniting
A gig in the sky
I let go of my dewed robe
As sun's glow warms my teapot.

Harbingers of life
melt into the morning haze
under a steamy sun
blazing a thousand infusions
buds unfurl with abondon.

in the white of dawn
nature lays bare her mantle
opening her arms
to the season's gleeful hue
sky cascades azure marquee.....

  1. Birds don’t conquer the air, they romance it, yeah?
I’ve said it before and I’m saying it now. You make seemingly mundane events seem magical wondrous ones, which they are infact, but only if we are in tune with ourselves as well as the nature surrounding us. I love the birds igniting a gig in the sky line as also the letting of dewed robe.
P.S. Good to be commenting on your poetry again. Feels like old times.

    1. I think poetry makes life so interesting! You and I are on the same wavelength, we feel poetry. Yes, it’s good to see you on my page. πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ˜˜

      1. Poetry is my life. Yes, you are right, we feel it, we breathe it. It is our sanctuary, it is our haven. I have missed you just as you have missed me. It is often silence that speaks so much. The unsaid between us left much room for misinterpretation and just like your poem, I hope that fog can now be lifted by the (re)igniting of the chatter of the “swallows” as our dear common friend would call us.
        Love Nonie. 😘

  2. Gigging birds, dropped robes, nature budding… so much reckless abandon can lead the poet along such wonderful mind paths. As you have done with nature, so, too, the poetess does – leaves herself naked in her words, allowing us to bathe in their glorious beauty. By the way, I love that idea of birds creating a gig in the sky. Beautiful poetry, my dear Yassermaid!

      1. πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Aw, my Yassermaid, that’s so kind of you to say. Maybe I will try a haibun. There is something about the marriage between short prose and poetry that feels right πŸ™‚ And, you are most welcome!!
