my shoulders
carry the weight
of the world,
my shoulder blades
are real tough,
they pack a punch,
enduring the prodigious.
straightening,
squaring my back,
I take on
travails and tasks
of the psyche,
at the day’s end,
I lean on my own shoulders.
Great lines.

I love economy in writing, although I practice it only sporadically. You have a beautiful economy to your choices of words and rhythms! I am happy to have found these words in the vast WordPress Tower. Kind regards, MSOC

I love this, simple but profound. In the end we can only depend on ourselves. Although the support of friends and family helps we must always champion ourselves.

“… lean on my own shoulder” left me thinking why I was complaining all my life… The words are simple and little…but those little divine venoms did their work just the way they do, it poisoned the poisoned the poison inside me.

Over Christmas I must read more of your back catalogue. Have you a book of poems yet?

No, I don’t have one yet, I am too lazy to do that, I was going to do a chapbook once but never got round to doing it. You have a nice holiday my friend.
